"Real change comes not from paper files, but from the courage of people connected to the ground."
1. Introduction & Fellowship Vision
In Madhya Pradesh, challenges of inequality and deprivation manifest in distinct forms — on one hand, the remote rural pockets of Panna district face struggles related to livelihoods, nutrition, and basic rights; on the other hand, the dense urban settlements and slums of the Bhopal division grapple with complex issues of education, child safety, and labor rights.
Grounded in this lived reality, Samavesh Society for Development and Governance, with support from the Azim Premji Foundation (APF), is launching the 'Constitutional Values Fellowship Programme' specifically focused on Panna and the Bhopal division. This is a 21-month journey rooted in grassroots engagement and driven by the goal of fostering change. The fellowship is neither a conventional job nor a purely academic pursuit; rather, it is an initiative designed to cultivate grassroots leadership. Its primary objective is to identify and provide a platform for empathetic, energetic young individuals and social activists, from the rural areas of Panna block of Panna district and the urban settlements alongwith the old city area of the Bhopal district, who possess a deep understanding of the challenges facing their communities and are actively working alongside the people to address them.
Through this fellowship, the organization will offer guidance and collective training, enabling these individuals to share their experiences and learn from one another. The aim is for them to lay the foundation for a sustainable, just, and dignified transformation, while embodying the values of the Constitution within their respective spheres of work. To support this, they will receive a fixed monthly stipend.
